shodo – 書道

the shodo portfolio.. This page will be updated constantly. As we go along I will present there some brandnew japanese calligraphies and ink paintings. While practicing shodo you concentrate on breath, posture and the movement of the brush. Shode exceeds 'nice' or 'beautiful' writing: One communicates in a natural and involuntary way with brush and paper. The ink on the paper reveals the writer's personality – not solely the ego but a personality beyond the ego, an open spirit movable like water.
